They’re working together on a project called “Overlay 86 Modernization of Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2).” This project will be done under the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) Basis.
The two parties signed an agreement on April 23, 2014, that lasts for 20 years.
In this agreement, there are rules for how much the toll fees can go up each year during the project’s operation:
- From the second year of operation until the twelfth year (until 2026), the toll will go up by 10 percent each year.
- From the thirteenth year until the last year of the agreement (until 2034), the toll will go up by 7 percent each year.
You can find the toll rates for all types of vehicles below, only valid for M2. Since there are several toll plazas between Lahore and Islamabad on the motorway, it’s a good idea to check the charges before you start your trip.
